When NY1 anchor Roma Torre left her job a year and a half ago, she took a principled stand much like her mother Marie Torre who, 60 years earlier, made history as the first reporter to be jailed for refusing to reveal a confidential source. Roma discusses her roots, her career, and the state of journalism amid a culture of alternate facts.
Roma Torre is an American television journalist and theatre critic. She is best known for her time at cable news channel NY 1, where she was a lead news presenter for over 28 years. Roma has received over thirty broadcasting awards including three Emmys.
