Help kick off our year-long Youth Aliyah Music Program "Let There Be Music" Campaign, by attending a brunch at the home of a member (address provided upon registration).

Learn about Hadassah’s Youth Village Meir Shfeyah’s music program and why it is so important from Hadassah’s liaison to Meir Shfeyah, Lauren Stern Kedem, and hear student musicians perform.

LAUREN STERN KEDEM

Liaison at the Hadassah / Meir Shfeyah Youth Village

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Lauren attended SUNY College at Buffalo and CUNY Lehman College earning a BA in Special Education/Learning & Behavioral Disorders and an MA in Special Education/Early Childhood, respectively. She also lived in Plainview, NY.

Professionally, she worked as a Special Education teacher at the Summit School in Nyack, NY and the Summit School in Forest Hills, NY.She also worked as an administrator at the Summit Camp in Honesdale, PA. and as a consultant in the Children’s Creative Response to Conflict Program, PS 75, in New York, NY.

When Lauren later moved to Jerusalem, she worked as a teacher and supervisor at the Summit Collegiate Studies Center before beginning her work at Hadassah/Meir Shfeyah Youth Village where she lived and worked as a house mother, English teacher, English department coordinator and Hadassah liaison.

Once Lauren retired from teaching, she then moved to Haifa to work part-time as liaison at the Hadassah/Meir Shfeyah Youth Village and… as an undisciplined artist.

Lauren has two children, Yaara Kedem and Noam Kedem.
