A Photo Essay of My Life in the East 50s, New York City
Presented by Nancy Langer
A few years ago, I created a book of images highlighting the neighborhood where I have lived for many years. My primary interest in photography is nature but I also love capturing architecture and cityscapes, always an interesting subject. Several years ago, I purchased a book titled “Sutton Place, an Uncommon Community by the River” produced by Christopher Gray, a well-known architectural historian who published a weekly column in the New York Times titled “Streetscapes.” He lived in my area and created this book including a history and vintage photos for a fundraising project sponsored by our local community organization, SAC—Sutton Area Community. I was inspired to study his book to learn about our local history while I photographed my present surroundings. I feel our neighborhood is quite unique and I am proud to be a resident here. I hope you will enjoy my presentation.
RSVP by November 15th.
Value of goods and services provided is $10 for registration.
